Students learn how to bring stories to life on stage through dialogue and action. Students will be working towards a performance of a short play that will be performed at events such as Merry Makers and our Theatre showcase in March.

Students bring to life an all-new original musical theatrical production. This includes several performances. By audition only.

Students create podcast episodes based on literature. Examples include conversations around favorite childhood books, meaningful novels, and a class book club. Episodes recorded in a working studio and released via Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Students learn the origins and development of a variety of different musical genres, including: Jazz, Blues, Rock, Soul, and Hip-Hop using a combination of vinyl records and archive footage. Additionally, they learn about music’s connection to pop culture and historical events.

Students are equipped with practical writing skills through a series of essay projects. Students will also read and analyze works of literature. Academic-focused.

Students learn the skills of improv as they apply to theatre and public speaking. There will be an emphasis on the use of humor through clean comedy with an opportunity for performances.

Students learn the art of composing musical and lyrical songs designed for the stage. Through this process, they will learn various types of poetry and music theory.

Students learn the various stages of producing a podcast, including: conceptualizing, recording, editing, and distributing. Throughout the year, students will release their episodes on Apple and Spotify.

Students learn the basics of performing arts, drama, and theater. This includes learning how to bring stories to life through dialogue and action on the stage. Students will be working towards a performance of a play.

Students learn various type of percussion instruments. Together, they learn to create various types of beats and patterns that they arrange into a composition that is performed at an end of the semester recital.
